Dr Emma Ford graduated from Liverpool University, England in 2004 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Sport Science at Loughborough University in 1999. Her junior post-graduate years were spent at Monash Health, training in Emergency Medicine, becoming an advanced trainee until focusing on anaesthesia. She also worked in Sports Medicine for over 5 years for box Hill Hawks and Hawthorn Football Clubs.
She began training in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care in 2010 and he became a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2017. Fellowship training was undertaken at Peninsula Health, Monash Health and Peter Macallum Cancer Centre, focusing on onco-anaesthesia.
Emma currently works at Monash Health and is Director of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Bass Coast Health. She also is accredited at various private hospitals including Epworth, Cabrini, St Vincents, Ramsey Private and Healthscope facilities.
She has interests in all aspects of anaesthesia, particularly peri-operative optimisation and emergency anaesthesia. She is actively involved in education of junior trainees, co-ordinating Quality and Assurance meetings at Bass Coast Health and maintaining her Professional Development.
