Our Anaesthetists

Dr Elliot Schulberg is a Specialist Anaesthetist with a focus on safe, patient-centred care. He graduated in medicine from Monash University in 2010 and completed his residency at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and Monash Health before undertaking anaesthetic training through the Monash Anaesthetic Training Scheme. He then completed a clinical fellowship in Regional Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Canada, and returned to Melbourne to begin specialist practice in 2019. Elliot also holds a master’s degree in Perioperative Medicine, reflecting his commitment to optimising patient care before, during and after surgery.

Elliot cares for patients undergoing a broad range of surgery. He has a particular interest in ultrasound-guided nerve blocks, which provide effective anaesthesia and pain relief for surgery, and has presented on the topic at workshops for consultant anaesthetists and trainees.

Elliot holds a public appointment as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Monash Health and previously held the same role at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne. He has helped develop knee replacement protocols at both hospitals and is involved in assessing anaesthesia trainees. He is accredited at numerous private hospitals including Epworth, Cabrini, St Vincent’s Private, and Ramsay and Healthscope facilities.
