Dr Daniel Brooks Reid is a specialist anaesthetist with public appointments at Monash Health, Monash Children’s Hospital and Alfred Health.
Following a transient career in Physiotherapy and graduating from Medicine at Deakin University, Daniel undertook anaesthetic training at Austin Health and completed advanced fellowships in Perioperative Medicine at The Alfred Hospital and Paediatric Anaesthesia at The Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne.
Daniel’s clinical work regularly involves complex adult and paediatric care, perioperative optimisation, and multidisciplinary teamwork across a vast range of surgical specialties. He has a particular interest in caring for children with complex needs, ear nose and throat / maxillofacial surgery, regional anaesthesia, upper GI surgery and orthopaedic surgery.
In addition to clinical work, Daniel has an interest in research with adjunct appointments at Monash University and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Daniel is a member of SPANZA (Society of Paediatric Anaesthesia in New Zealand and Australia), DEA (Doctors for the Environment), ASA (Australian Society of Anaesthetists) and participates in the ANZCA Continuing Practice Development program.
